Editorial Policy: Who Writes and Checks Our Content

How we build, test and review our tools and guides.

Who writes and checks our content

Tools and guides are written by Awais, founder and editor-in-chief. Finance, tax and health pages are checked against official sources before they are published and every time the underlying rules change. Each of these pages shows who wrote it, the date it was last reviewed and the sources it relies on. When a qualified reviewer checks a page, the page names them.

The step-by-step process behind every calculator is described in our methodology.

How we build calculators

  • We use the formulas published by official bodies and standard references, and we show them on each page.
  • Every formula is covered by automated tests with known correct answers, including edge cases.
  • Tax tools are tied to a specific tax year. When a budget or finance act changes rates, we update the tool and its "last reviewed" date.
  • We round only at the end of a calculation and say how results are rounded.

Primary sources we rely on

  • United States: Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov) and the Social Security Administration (ssa.gov).
  • United Kingdom: HM Revenue & Customs and GOV.UK.
  • India: Income Tax Department (incometax.gov.in) and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.
  • Pakistan: Federal Board of Revenue (fbr.gov.pk) and the Finance Act for each fiscal year.
  • Health formulas: peer-reviewed publications and public-health bodies such as the CDC and WHO.

Use of AI

We may use AI tools to help draft outlines or code. A person checks every page, tests every tool and verifies every figure against the sources above before it goes live. We never publish unreviewed AI-written content.

Corrections

If you find an error, please contact us and choose "Report a wrong result or outdated rule". We review reports quickly, fix confirmed errors, and update the page's review date.
