Handy everyday tools

Some useful tools do not fit neatly under PDFs, images or money. This page collects them. Like everything on the site, they are free, need no account and run in your browser.

Typing speed test

The typing test measures your words per minute and accuracy over 1, 2, 3 or 5 minutes, at three difficulty levels. It shows gross and net WPM live and highlights your mistakes, so you can see whether speed or accuracy is holding you back. As a rough guide, 30 to 50 WPM is average and many office jobs ask for about 40 WPM with high accuracy. Retest once a week to track your progress.

Pakistan electricity bill calculator

The electricity bill calculator for Pakistan turns the units on your meter into an estimated bill, using NEPRA slab rates, fixed charges, the fuel charges adjustment and taxes for LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO and the other distribution companies. It shows which slab your units fall in. For unprotected consumers, one unit over a slab boundary can move every unit to the higher rate, which is why bills often jump in summer.

For countdowns and stopwatches, see the online timer. To count words in a document, use the word counter. To split a bill or work out a tip, try the tip calculator. The full list of tools has everything on the site.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good typing speed?

As a rough guide, 30 to 50 words per minute is average and over 70 is fast. Accuracy matters as much as speed: aim for 95% or better.

Is my typing test result saved?

No. The test runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

How accurate is the electricity bill estimate?

It uses the published slab rates and charges, but your real bill also depends on your sanctioned load, meter type and any arrears, so treat it as an estimate.

Are these tools free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on how often you use them.
