How Fiverr fees work
Fiverr’s seller fee is simple. Fiverr keeps 20% of every order, and you keep 80%. That includes Gig Extras and tips. Your earnings become available to withdraw after the clearance period. When you withdraw, you may pay a small flat fee depending on the method.
You receive = Earnings − Early payout fee (if used) − Withdrawal fee
The buyer pays a separate service fee: 5.5% of the order, plus $3.50 when the order is under $200. That fee goes to Fiverr and does not come out of your 80%. In some regions Fiverr shows buyers prices with the fee already included. Your earnings are the same either way.
Withdrawal fees (checked 22 October 2026)
| Method | Fiverr’s fee | Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | $0 | $1 |
| Payoneer account | $3 | $10 |
| Bank transfer via Payoneer, local currency | $3 | $20 |
| Bank transfer via Payoneer, USD wire | $1 | $20 |
Fiverr’s two help articles disagree on the bank transfer fee. Its earnings page shows $1, while its Payoneer article lists $3 for local-currency transfers. We show both. After Fiverr pays out, Payoneer or PayPal may charge their own fees, especially to convert dollars into your local currency.
Worked example 1: a $100 logo order with a tip
A client orders a $100 logo package and adds a $10 tip. You withdraw to your Payoneer account.
- Order + tip: $110
- Fiverr commission (20%): $22
- Your earnings: $88
- Payoneer withdrawal: $3
- You receive $85 (77.3% of what the client paid you)
The client pays $100 + 5.5% + $3.50 = $109 for the order, plus a separate fee on the tip.
Worked example 2: pricing for a target
You want $400 to reach your Payoneer account from a project.
($400 + $3) ÷ 0.8 = $503.75. In practice you might list it at $505 or $510. Switch the calculator to Gig price to receive an amount to try other targets.
Clearance and early payout
- Earnings clear 14 days after an order is marked complete.
- Top Rated, Pro and Seller Plus freelancers wait 7 days.
- Top Rated and Seller Plus Premium sellers can use early payout for 1% of the clearing amount.
Tips to keep more
- Withdraw in bigger chunks. A $3 fee is 3% of a $100 withdrawal but only 0.3% of $1,000.
- Use Gig Extras and packages. Fiverr’s cut is the same 20%, but bigger orders spread the fixed costs, and buyers avoid the $3.50 small-order fee from $200 up.
- Watch the currency step. For many freelancers the biggest hidden cost is converting dollars to rupees, pesos or naira. The freelancer take-home calculator shows that step, plus local tax notes for Pakistan, India, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Nigeria.
- Compare with Upwork. Upwork’s fee varies from 0% to 15% per contract; see the Upwork fee calculator.
- Your own clients, found outside Fiverr, can be billed with the invoice generator. Check what card or PayPal payments cost with the PayPal fee calculator.
